From the outback to the sea

A late start from Katherine as we only had a relatively short trip up to Darwin. After our big days 300 km seems like a trip around the block. We have finally nailed the pulling down of the trailer and can get it away in about nine minutes now!
An uneventful trip up the Stuart Highway and we passed out first dry season burn.
Smoky highway
Booked into a nice shady caravan park and got the trailer set up for a four day stay before we went in search of the sea! (I was having withdrawals) Darwin is very pretty and gloriously hot. Our new neighbours tell us it reached 38 degrees in their Winnebago through the night last night. Love it!
Having my ocean fix

We went exploring and found Cullen Bay where we go out on a fishing charter later in the week . We are BOTH going on a ten hour trip out to sea in search of the big ones.
How long till we go fishing?
Then we climbed a grassy hill and this vista opened out to us. Deep blue, glorious sea. Tomorrow we are planning to sit and watch the sun set  over the ocean.
Cullen Bay
A quick trip to Fisherman's Wharf to buy dinner and then back to the park to discover Allan and Jenny, our neighbours from Katherine have pulled up across on the next site...so of course pre-dinner drinks again ..and we also met Denise and Tony from the Gold Coast who have been on the road for eleven months. This on the road life is looking very attractive.

Especially when you have a meal like this!
Dinner...Wild NT tiger prawns.
